Tim Bradley believes Terence Crawford will make it look easy against Canelo Alvarez
One of boxing’s most anticipated showdowns is weeks away from coming to fruition as pound-for-pound greats Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford prepare to square off in a September superfight. Crawford will move up multiple weight classes to challenge for Alvarez’s super middleweight titles.
Since the fight’s official announcement earlier this year, many top pundits and legends have shared their predictions for how the Alvarez vs. Crawford fight will play out. One former titleholder isn’t giving Alvarez much of a chance to hand Crawford his first-career defeat in the ring.

Tim Bradley strongly sides with Terence Crawford in upcoming Canelo Alvarez clash
Alvarez’s sluggish performance in recent wins over Edgar Berlanga and William Scull have left many concerned for the legendary Mexican boxer. Alvarez appeared reluctant to push a high-level pace against Scull back in May, in what was labeled a ‘tune-up’ for the Crawford showdown.
After watching Alvarez’s recent wins, a former titleholder believes Crawford’s abilities will be too much for Alvarez to handle on fight night.
During a recent interview with Fight Hub TV, Tim Bradley was asked about his prediction for Alvarez vs. Crawford, and believes it’ll be a lopsided beatdown.
“I look at the performances by Canelo. I look at his last performance. They’ve been alright. It’s not like they’ve been, ‘Wow,’ they blew me away. So, I’m not worried about all of that,” Bradley said. “The same thing with Crawford. I know he’s with SNAC, and I know some news came out this week.
“One other thing. It doesn’t matter if Canelo is on s***. He ain’t beating no Terence Crawford. You heard it here first!”
Alvarez’s last defeat came against Dmitry Bivol in a super light heavyweight title bout in May 2022. Since then, Alvarez has won six straight fights by decision, including victories over Gennady Golovkin and Jaime Munguia.
Crawford hasn’t fought since outpointing Israil Madrimov last August to win the WBA and WBO interim light middleweight belts. It was the highest weight class Crawford had competed at in his career.
Oscar De La Hoya claimed ‘Canelo cannot handle’ Terence Crawford skills
Bradley isn’t the only boxing great to strongly side with Crawford ahead of the Alvarez fight. Oscar De La Hoya, a boxing Hall of Famer and Alvarez’s former promoter, believes Crawford’s skills will be too much for Alvarez to deal with in the ring.
Heavyweight boxing great Bernard Hopkins also believes Crawford has a great chance at handing Alvarez one of his few career setbacks in their upcoming showdown. Hopkins touted Crawford’s ‘strategy and gameplan’ to match up well with Alvarez’s strengths.
After a series of heated faceoffs between Alvarez and Crawford in recent weeks, their upcoming superfight is quickly garnering hype, and we aren’t far away from getting answers to pressing questions.
