Terence Crawford scored two brutal knockdowns against unbeaten star he called ‘one of the best in the world’

Just a few fights into his memorable run as undisputed welterweight champion, Terence Crawford was pitted against one of the sport’s biggest names in a clash of unbeaten stars.

Making a move from lightweight back in 2015, Crawford had turned in a knockout over Thomas Dulorme to win the WBO lightweight crown in his divisional bow.

And in back-to-back defenses, the Nebraska native would take out Dierry Jean and then Hank Lundy with an impressive knockout triumph.

Pitted against an unbeaten star in their respective MGM Grand debut outings, Crawford would pick up a pair of championships while defending his own belt.

Terence Crawford dropped Viktor Postol twice in dominant decision win

Putting his WBO light welterweight crown on the line in 2016, Crawford would battle with the undefeated Ukrainian star Viktor Postol — with the duo possessing championship gold.

And with both holding unbeaten 28-fight runs in the sport, Crawford proved far too much for the unbeaten European, who put his own WBC and The Ring titles on the line.

Full of praise for the charge of Postol, Crawford branded the Ukrainian as one of the “best fighters in the world”, despite landing a pair of quickfire knockdowns in the fifth round of their clash.

“I thought it was a good fight between two technicians, but he (Viktor Postol) was quicker than me,” Crawford said post-fight.

“He is one of the best fighters in the world. I just didn’t have the answers for him.”

Terence Crawford won undisputed crown with brutal KO stoppage

After his decision win over Postol — his fight over twelve rounds at the weight class — Crawford turned in a trio of consecutive stoppage victories.

Defeating both John Molina Jr. and then Felix Diaz to retain this trio of championship spoils, Crawford was pitted against undefeated Olympian Julius Indongo, who held the WBA and IBF light welterweight crowns.

Within just three rounds, Crawford had folded the undefeated Namibian star with a hellacious left hook to the liver, sending him to the canvas and kicking off his reign as the undisputed king at light welterweight.
