Terence Crawford scored big win over veteran star who beat Amir Khan quicker than him with a brutal knockout

Despite stopping the veteran Amir Khan in the Brit’s final world title fight, Terence Crawford was unable to eclipse a common foe who did it quicker.

Matching up with Olympic star and Bolton favorite Amir Khan back in 2019, Crawford put his WBO welterweight crown on the line once again.

And in rather dominant fashion, Omaha native Crawford would outclass Khan over the course of six rounds, defending his belt with a memorable, albeit controversial, knockout win.

But far earlier in his career, Crawford was pitted against a common foe, who had just inflicted a shocking loss on the then-undefeated Khan similarly.

Likely best known for his shock victory over the above-mentioned Khan back in 2008, Colombian veteran Breidis Prescott would also welcome Crawford to the big time during the Nebraska star’s initial rise.

Of course, pitted with the then-undefeated Khan in a WBO intercontinental title fight in 2008, Prescott would need just 54 seconds to knock out the Bolton star, inflicting his first professional loss after securing 20 straight wins.

And prior to his infamous downturn, which spanned a huge seven consecutive losses, Prescott would be pitted against the rising Crawford five years after his hellacious knockout win over Khan.

Once more tasked with snapping a 20-fight undefeated run, Prescott featured against the up-and-coming Crawford over the course of ten rounds in a non-title bout.

Suffering a unanimous decision loss to the future undisputed welterweight champion, Prescott was outpointed over the course of the fight, with Crawford tasting world lightweight spoils just three fights later with his win over Ricky Burns.

Notably for Crawford, the future light middleweight titleholder would feature for the first time on HBO Boxing that night during his fight with Colombian star Prescott.

Off the back of his championship win over Burns, Crawford would eventually taste title success at light welterweight, stopping Thomas Dulorne with a knockout win in their 2015 showdown.

And following that win up with consecutive knockouts over both Dierry Jean and then Hank Lundy, Crawford was eventually pitted against an undefeated Ukrainian star.

Facing fellow champion Viktor Postol with the WBC, WBO, and The Ring light welterweight titles on the line, Crawford was pushed to the twelfth round by his fellow unbeaten star.

Hailing the Ukraine native’s ability in the ring, Crawford described Postol as one of the “best in the world” after his unanimous decision victory.
