Roy Jones Jr. brutally knocked out Montell Griffin

After losing his undefeated record to Montell Griffin via ninth-round disqualification due to an illegal blow while he was on one knee, Roy Jones Jr. was determined to make things right in the rematch.

The pair battled it out for the second time on August 7, 1997, inside the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, Connecticut, USA.

This time, ‘Captain Hook’ ended the contest in devastating fashion.

In just twenty seconds, Jones Jr. knocked his rival to the canvas with a massive shot.

Griffin made it back to his feet and attempted to fend his opponent off, but he quickly found himself on the floor once more when a bomb detonated on his chin.

The warrior attempted to make his way back to his feet before falling all over the ring, resulting in the end of the bout inside the first round.

Jones Jr.’s performance against Griffin in their second fight was nothing short of exceptional.

However, like many boxers, he’s experienced the lows of the sport as well as the highs.

On one occasion, he battled it out with a heavy-handed boxer.
