Prince Naseem Hamed face-planted Vuyani Bungu

On March 11, 2000, Prince Naseem Hamed put his WBO featherweight title on the line against Vuyani Bungu.

His South African opponent had more than proven himself in the sport, having held the IBF super bantamweight title for five years.

However, he was no match for the Englishman.

From the first bell, the challenger showcased his aggressive style, attempting to bully his rival.

However, the champion was able to evade his foe’s punches before firing back with blistering shots of his own.

In the fourth round, Hamed detonated a bomb that exploded on Bungu’s chin, leaving him flat on his face.

Somehow, the warrior attempted to beat the ten-count, but realizing he was in no fit state to continue, the referee called a halt to the action.

While Hamed emerged victorious against Bungu, he didn’t win all of his fights.

In his entire career, the now Hall of Famer only suffered one defeat.
