Mike Tyson suffered an injury during his loss to Danny Williams

On July 30, 2004, Mike Tyson battled it out with Danny Williams inside Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky, USA.

The former world heavyweight champion entered the bout as a clear favorite, but it didn’t take the underdog long to make a mockery of the odds.

Tyson got off to a brilliant start, rocking his rival with a heavy left hand inside the very first round.

However, during the opening segment, the icon tore the complex lateral meniscus in his left knee, preventing him from moving and delivering punches to his optimum ability.

The pair went toe-to-toe in the second, exchanging heavy blows, before Williams had two points deducted in the third for a late punch on the break and a low blow.

By the fourth, Tyson had tired, giving the Brit the opportunity to fire off an impressive combination, culminating in a big right hand that sent the superstar crashing towards the canvas and ultimately ended the fight.

Mike Tyson got dropped in sparring by a huge punch

Williams isn’t the only person who can say they’ve dropped Tyson.

The American was only so good on fight night because he put in the hard work behind the scenes.

However, his training sessions didn’t always go the way he’d have liked.

On one occasion, Tyson was dropped heavily in sparring by a surprise boxer.
