Luis Ortiz survived two knockdowns to finish Charles Martin

On January 1, 2022, Luis Ortiz went to war with Charles Martin, inside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, USA.

The Cuban had to dig deep to come out on top, as the former IBF heavyweight world champion put up a valiant effort.

The bout couldn’t have gotten off to a much worse start for Ortiz, with the powerhouse hitting the canvas in the opening round via a huge left hand.

After beating the count, the veteran found himself on the floor once more after eating a solid jab in the fourth round.

However, refusing to give up, the warrior produced an epic comeback.

In the sixth, Ortiz connected with a solid shot to the temple that left Martin out on his feet.

Like a shark, the decorated amateur pounced, dropping the American, who ended up with his glove tangled in the ropes.

‘Prince’ bravely made his way back to his feet, but quickly found himself on the floor again.

For a second time, the American managed to get up, but, deeming he was in no fit state to continue, the referee called a halt to the action.
