Floyd Mayweather celebrated with a $20 McDonalds breakfast after $150 million Canelo Alvarez clash

Floyd Mayweather celebrated his victory in his $150 million clash against Canelo Alvarez with an unorthodox drive-thru meal.

On September 14, 2013, Floyd Mayweather battled Canelo Alvarez in a fight between two undefeated champions in their prime.

This Super Welterweight unification bout was said to have generated over $150 million, making it one of the richest fights in boxing history.

In what was a shock for many, Mayweather dominated the Mexican great, winning via split decision after one judge bizarrely scored the fight a draw, before retiring immediately following the bout.

Mayweather added to his near-billion-dollar fortune with his earnings for this fight, although he didn’t spend much of it on a celebratory breakfast the following morning.

Floyd Mayweather celebrated his win over Canelo Alvarez with a $20 McDonald’s breakfast

Shortly after handing Canelo the first loss of his professional career, “Money” enjoyed an unconventional breakfast of champions.

On the FightHype YouTube channel, footage of Mayweather driving around Las Vegas just hours after beating Canelo was published, which showed the breakfast following his win.

Mayweather drove himself and a friend to a McDonald’s to order from the breakfast menu, which is likely not something most nutritionists would recommend after a gruelling 12-round war.

Mayweather’s order was nothing special, despite the man being worth close to a billion dollars. At the drive-thru, the 50-0 former world champion bought:

In 2013 prices, the order totaled between $19 and $20, a pittance compared to the $41 million purse Mayweather is reported to have made for the fight.

For a man known for his lavish lifestyle and outrageous purchases, seeing Mayweather enjoying a McDonald’s value menu meal must have been a shock for the staff at the store.

Floyd Mayweather spent a million times more money on his grandson’s Christmas present

$20 for a celebratory breakfast is something a regular person would do, but as we’ve seen in the past, Mayweather’s spending habits are anything but regular.

He has been known to spend millions on property, jewelry, and other lavish things, as his money seems to go out as fast as it comes in.

However, “Money’s” spending extends to his entire family, as his three-year-old grandson found out when he received a Christmas gift he probably struggled to appreciate at the time.

In a social media video, Mayweather revealed that he bought his grandson a $20 million building, literally a million times more than he spent on his breakfast after beating Canelo.

Mayweather told the three-year-old: “Guess what Papa bought you. I got you a gift. Guess what I bought you?

“You the first kid that own a building in a diamond district in New York City. We bought you a building. Papa bought you a building.”

The child didn’t really understand the significance behind the gift, but he will surely appreciate the $20 million gesture once he is a bit older.
