One of Deontay Wilder’s most impressive victories came with a triple knockdown against a former world champion in the first round.
The former world champion is known for his incredible power in the ring, winning all but one of his first 40 fights via knockout.
While he has lost four of his last five fights leading up to Deontay Wilder’s comeback fight against Tyrrel Herndon, the American fighter is still as dangerous as ever in the ring.
Wilder proved his ferocity by dismantling a former world heavyweight champion to erase the one blotch on his record in one of the most “ridiculous” knockouts of his career.

Deontay Wilder finished Bermane Stiverne in the first round with three brutal knockdowns
Wilder’s 2017 clash with Bermane Stiverne was one of his coldest and most impressive victories, despite the fight lasting less than three minutes.
Wilder walked into the fight with a grudge against Stiverne, having been held to a 12-round decision victory in their bout two years prior.
With the undefeated champion known for his lightning-quick knockout victories, he was determined to prove that he was as dangerous as many claimed by beating him quickly.
Stiverne wasn’t originally meant to take on Wilder, however. Their rematch only came about because his planned opponent, Luis Ortiz, failed a drug test and was suspended from the bout.
This catapulted Stiverne into title contention, although in hindsight, he’ll have wished it hadn’t.
The first and only round saw Wilder dominate Stiverne, barely putting his hands up to defend himself against the weak hits of the former WBC Heavyweight champion.
It took nearly two minutes for the first knockout as a laser-targeted right hand found his opponent’s chin beautifully.
After the first knockdown, a confident Wilder coldly stood frozen, staring down Stiverne and refusing to put his hands up, showing his supreme confidence.
He was right to be confident, as a massive four-punch combination of wild haymakers knocked Stiverne down almost immediately.
The writing was on the wall, and it took another four-punch combination to knock Stiverne out cold as he lay slumped on the mat, barely knowing where he was at the moment.
There were 51 seconds between the first and third knockdowns. Stiverne simply never stood a chance.
Wilder retained his world championship and avenged the one blot on his impressive knockout streak up to that point.
Joe Rogan called Deontay Wilder knocking out Bermane Stiverne ‘like a bad guy in a movie’
The incredible three-knockdown KO by Wilder on Stiverne was so impressive that Joe Rogan compared the “Bronze Bomber” to a villain in a movie.
Speaking to Wilder on an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, the UFC commentator said the KO was like a comic book movie, and “one of the most ridiculous” KO’s in boxing history.
Rogan told Wilder: “It was one of the most ridiculous knockouts of all time, when you stand there with your hands down, hey, you step forward, and it’s like it was a comic book scene.
“The way you knocked him out. Like I said, like you being a bad guy in a movie – it seemed like you were a bad guy in a boxing movie. It didn’t make any sense.
“You were the guy—like, if I was the coach of the good guy, sitting ringside and watching you do that, we’d be like ‘s—‘.”
Wilder knocked out Luiz in the tenth round of his next fight before his infamous draw with Tyson Fury.
