Anthony Joshua controversially finished Carlos Takam

On October 28, 2017, Anthony Joshua battled it out with Carlos Takam inside the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

From the start of the fight, the Englishman went out determined to maintain his 100% KO ratio, launching big shots.

In the second round, an accidental headbutt caused Joshua’s nose to bleed, prompting him to up the output, eventually dropping his foe in the fourth.

However, as the bout progressed, Takam didn’t seem to be in much danger, which is why it came as an enormous surprise when the referee stopped the contest in the tenth.

Joshua landed one shot of note, which didn’t particularly hurt the French-Cameroonian before three blows missed the target.

Unsurprisingly, the fans were unhappy, with many taking to social media to voice their opinions.

One said: “The fight stopped way too soon,” while another added: “Takam was not completely done. He got caught, yes, but that does not mean he was finished.”

A third said: “The referee made the wrong decision, Takam was still standing and defending.”

A fourth fumed: “Ridiculous.”
