Wladimir Klitschko’s durable opponent disregards boxing’s biggest rule as he predicts Terence Crawford vs Canelo Alvarez

Terence Crawford will put his undefeated 41-0 record on the line as he vies for greatness against undisputed super-middleweight champion and face of boxing, Canelo Alvarez.

We are now just seven days out from Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford on September 13th, a fight that has captivated many a boxing fan and has onlookers waiting with bated breath to see who will emerge victorious.

The fight will see Canelo take on his toughest challenge in recent years, as the Mexican superstar’s opponents of late have largely been lacking, such as John Ryder, Edgar Berlanga, and Jaime Munguia, all of whom seemed out of their depth against Alvarez.

It will also, though, see Crawford take on his toughest test by far, too, as he jumps not one, but two weight divisions to face Canelo in a David vs Goliath encounter.

While many use the weight difference to count Crawford out, one man, who shared the ring with Wladimir Klitschko, refuses to put stock in size.

Bryant Jennings believes Terence Crawford will win by split decision

In 2017, Wladimir Klitschko was retired by Anthony Joshua, after having been beaten by Tyson Fury in 2015.

Before that, though, the Ukrainian ‘Dr. Steelhammer’ secured the final victory of his career against 19-0 American Bryant Jennings.

Klitschko was coming off a KO win over Kubrat Pulev, but the undefeated American took Klitschko the distance, though failed to secure a win.

Jennings recently spoke with YSM Sports Media on the upcoming mega-fight, and completely disregards the age-old boxing rule of ‘a good big one beats a good little one’, instead suggesting size does not matter,

“Weight don’t really matter, you know, because I’ve seen [Bud] smash guys that are way bigger than him. […] I think Crawford can handle the weight difference. […] I’m just looking at the athleticism and the will that Crawford always had and always brought and I’m just thinking of that just transforming into the weight difference. The weight difference is the only thing we can argue about.”

“I think with the weight difference, with me witnessing smaller guys do damage to bigger guys, it kind of really really really don’t matter. […] Nobody is gonna get stopped, I think it’s gonna be a good fight.”

Jennings finally gave his prediction, suggesting Crawford will win by split decision.

Roy Jones Jr. also disregards the weight difference for Crawford vs Canelo

While many believe the size will make all the difference, including world-class boxing trainer Abel Sanchez, who thinks Crawford has put on too much weight, losing out on his speed in a fruitless bid for more power, others such as Jennings clearly disagree.

But Jennings isn’t alone in his view, as Roy Jones Jr. also thinks Crawford can beat Canelo despite the size difference, suggesting that yes, a good big guy does beat a good little guy, but with Crawford we may be witnessing a great little guy.

David Haye is unsure on Crawford vs Canelo after seeing the pair face off. He said they looked about the same size which forced him to disregard any size concerns completely.

Just one week out from the mega-fight, all will be revealed on fight night.
