Andre Ward has a very good reason to call out Anthony Joshua, says a retired fighter.
Having showcased breathtaking skills, the American has undeniably solidified his status as one of the best boxers of the modern era.
However, having fought at super middleweight and light heavyweight, there’s no denying he’s significantly smaller than Anthony Joshua, who has knocked out Wladimir Klitschko, Alexander Povetkin and Dillian Whyte.
But with the warrior possessing such a high ring IQ, one athlete-turned-coach doesn’t think ‘Son of God’ would call for the fight unless he was very confident.

Andre Ward has seen a weakness in Anthony Joshua, says Buddy McGirt
Buddy McGirt has opened up about why he thinks Andre Ward has challenged Anthony Joshua.
The two-weight world champion thinks it’s because his countryman has genuinely spotted a path to victory rather than this just being an attempt at generating publicity.
In an interview with Boxing News, he said: “Andre Ward sees something. He’s a student of the game.
“He’s not just going to call out Anthony Joshua to excite the fans. He sees something he can take advantage of and make history. So, I can’t be mad at him.”

However, when the Hall of Famer sat down on his punches, he could deliver pretty spiteful blows.
On one occasion, Ward destroyed a fighter who’d badly missed weight.
