Terence Crawford will dare to be great by moving up multiple weight classes to take on Canelo Alvarez this September.
Terence Crawford will put his 0 on the line as his undefeated record will be tested by the face of boxing, Canelo Alvarez.
Canelo has just two losses out of his 67 fights, with one coming when he tried to move up a weight class himself against Dmitry Bivol.
Crawford has today responded to one piece of valid criticism that has fans concerned about how he may perform against the pound-for-pound super-middleweight.

Terence Crawford brushes off criticism of Israil Madrimov fight ahead of Canelo clash
In an interview with The Stomping Ground, Crawford, who one-upped Adrien Broner, was asked about how he will manage moving up in weight to face Canelo, given that he fought a close fight with Israil Madrimov after moving up from welterweight to super-welterweight.
‘Bud’ was asked: “A lot of people are judging you off the Madrimov fight, saying you struggled moving up in weight. You’re going further up in weight, they’re saying that’s going to go against you based on the Madrimov fight.”
Crawford, who Canelo once praised, was blunt in his response: “We shall see.”
It seems even jumping two more weight classes, Crawford’s confidence in himself is unwavering, and he truly believes he has the skills to beat Canelo.
His timing may be perfect for the upset, too, as Canelo has not scored a knockout since 2021.
Canelo has scored one KO in his last eight fights
In his last eight fights, Canelo has dropped Jaime Munguia, Jermell Charlo, John Ryder, and Edgar Berlanga, but was unable to finish any of these, winning a unanimous decision against them all.
Canelo also set the record for fewest punches against William Scull, and cruised to a unanimous decision there.

His last KO came against Caleb Plant back in 2021, when he stopped the American in the penultimate round.
