Floyd Mayweather says Manny Pacquiao was an easy fight
On May 2, 2015, inside the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao finally settled their feud once and for all.
The bout, considered to be one of the biggest in boxing history, pitted two legends against one another, with the combat sports community expecting fireworks.
However, when the big night finally came, it underdelivered, with the numbers suggesting Mayweather dominated Pacquiao over the course of 12 rounds.
With that in mind, the undefeated fighter has shown zero restraint in giving his take on how the contest went.
In an interview with The Pivot Podcast, he claimed: “I want you guys to go check out Manny Pacquiao. He got famous because they said, ‘This could be the guy that could possibly dethrone the King’.
“Did it happen? Absolutely not. Was it easy? Absolutely.”
Disagreeing with the statement, the host replied: “He wasn’t easy.”
Mayweather fired back: “So ten rounds to two, ain’t easy?”
Holding his own, the presenter stated: “It was the first time I saw somebody catch you.”
The boxer responded: “Shane Mosley caught me, and all he did was make me mad. And you’ve seen what I do when I get mad — I tighten my game up.”
Floyd Mayweather says Manny Pacquiao is the greatest fighter he ever fought
While Mayweather certainly hasn’t shied away from launching verbal bombs at his arch-nemesis, he’s also given him some credit.
Despite insisting it was an easy fight, the 47-year-old still believes the Filipino is the best boxer with whom he ever shared the ring.
In a fascinating interview, Mayweather opened up about what makes Pacquiao so brilliant.
