Tyson Fury’s cousin dropped and beaten by journeyman with 59 losses in huge upset

Tyson Fury’s cousin had just three fights before everything went wrong in his latest fight.

Tyson Fury‘s fighting family is well-known by now. From his brothers Tommy and Roman to his cousin Hughie Fury, and even his dad John Fury, was a fighter once upon a time.

One little-known member of the family is Walter Fury, who debuted in June 2024 and has now had four fights, the last of which may have sealed the fate of his career entirely.

Walter Fury dropped and beaten by 9-59 journeyman

Last night saw Liverpool, England play host to an event featuring rising prospects and new homegrown talent.

On that card, Walter Fury faced 9-59-3 Kristaps Zulgis. Fury’s previous three opponents have a combined record of 12-193-10.

Fury had comfortably beaten his three low-level opponents, and was expected to have no issues with Zulgis.

In the very first round, Zulgis dropped Fury, which seemed to spell the beginning of a disaster bout for ‘The Gypsy King’s cousin.

Fury regained his composure and fought on, but, after four rounds, had failed to impress. One commentator said, “Neither man looks entirely delighted with their efforts.”

As the scorecards were announced, Zulgis won a decision, with Fury taking his first loss and most humiliating moment in the sport.

The same journeyman caused a huge upset in his last fight

After losing 33 fights in a row, Zulgis fought just last month in London in his last fight before beating Fury.

Zulgis faced 2-1 Jack Oliphant, and stopped the rising prospect with a left hook in the very first round.

Also on the same card, Eliot Elimasi was stopped by a journeyman too, taking his first devastating loss.

This marks a series of huge upsets in the past few weeks, with unbeaten contender Khariton Agrba being stopped last time out in Russia.
