There are some members of the boxing world who are still hopeful that Tyson Fury will go back on his recent retirement and return to the ring.
Following his loss to Oleksandr Usyk this past December, Tyson Fury once again announced that he was retiring from professional boxing.
Despite having done it several times before, this time ‘The Gypsy King’s’ retirement came as quite a shock as he still seemed to have a lot to give to the sport.
Having said that, the 36-year-old earned a staggering $147m throughout 2024, leaving him with no need to carry on fighting for the money.

Andy Lee shares Tyson Fury’s explicit response to rumored Anthony Joshua fight
There is still hope throughout the boxing world that Fury will return to action this year despite his retirement and Eddie Hearn is still highlighting him as his preferred opponent for Anthony Joshua.
When the two were at the top of their respective games, it was one of the most called-for fights throughout the sport and it would’ve been huge for British boxing.
Unfortunately, though, it never came to fruition, and the two subsequently began regressing, suffering multiple losses each.
Despite neither fighter being anywhere near the primes of their career and the demand for that fight seemingly having faded, Hearn still wants to make it happen.
However, Fury’s coach and cousin, Andy Lee has revealed a conversation he recently had with the former heavyweight champion regarding a potential comeback.
“As bad as it sounds, it depends what the figure is. I think for Tyson, it has to motivate him to come out of retirement. I think he’s quite happy now, he’s very happy, so to me, I don’t really care if they fight each other, I’d be happy to see them both retire,” Lee told iFL TV.
“Yeah (I’ve had discussions with him), he just sends the odd message here and there and voice notes and things, he seems very happy. ‘Andy, I’m not f*****’, that’s what he said, ‘Couldn’t be f***** with it’, that’s what he said,” Lee continued.
Will Tyson Fury return to boxing?
Ultimately, as stated by his coach, Fury’s return to boxing depends on his motivation to get stuck into another grueling fight camp.
Several times throughout his career, Fury hasn’t taken his fight camp seriously and it has shown in his physique and performances on occasions.
Although both he and Joshua would be guaranteed a huge payday, having made such a substantial amount last year, it is unclear whether that alone could drag the 36-year-old back out of retirement, especially as he likely won’t get near a title again.
