Tyson Fury contradicts Moses Itauma claim by insisting he’s the only boxer capable of beating Oleksandr Usyk

Tyson Fury has once more needled long-time rival Oleksandr Usyk, as he continues to play up his performances during their two-fight series.

Facing off with current undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk twice last year, Tyson Fury would suffer the first and second losses of his professional career — coming up short in decision defeats.

And while his future in the sport is still completely up in the air as he flip-flops on another retirement-snapping return, Fury had plans to fight Usyk for a third time next year.

Voicing his satisfaction with his performances in the Middle East, Fury once more claimed he should have won both those fights.

Tyson Fury echoes claims he’s the only one to beat Oleksandr Usyk

Finding himself on the receiving end of a pair of rather comprehensive decision losses to Usyk in their series last year, Fury immediately questioned the judge’s scorecards in the aftermath.

And reacting to emerging challenger Moses Itauma’s devastating knockout of Dillian Whyte over the weekend, Fury weighed up the Slovak-born striker’s chances of toppling Usyk in a mooted title fight.

“Moses Itauma will wreck all those old men out of the division: (Oleksandr) Usyk, AJ [Anthony Joshua], [Jarrell] Miller, whoever is old; [Zhilei] Zhang, Luis Ortiz,” Fury said in a video posted on social media.

But in the same video, the Morecambe native seemed to contradict his own statement, claiming if anybody could possibly hand Usyk his first professional defeat, then it’s him.

“Usyk knows there is only one man who can beat him. I’ve done it twice before and the world knows it,” Fury explained.

Tyson Fury continues to weigh up comeback

Despite claiming recently that he will make a return to the ring to fight Usyk next year, Fury has been non-committal on actually confirming his comeback to the squared circle again.

But according to Queensberry Promotions leader Frank Warren, former WBC heavyweight champion Fury can’t help but scratch that itch to potentially return to action.
