Tony Bellew has revealed who he truly believes is the greatest boxer of all time.
Arguments about the greatest boxer of all time are often well-documented.
Whether that be the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time or who is the best pound-for-pound fighter in history and unsurprisingly, more often than not, the opinion differs every time.
It doesn’t stop the debate from happening however and Tony Bellew is the latest to chime in and make a claim that is guaranteed to divide all.

Tony Bellew: ‘People will never understand how good he was’
Asked by boxing journalist Michael Benson in a recent Q and A session, Bellew revealed who his number one boxer of all time is, as well as the best man to ever box.
He replied: “I’d say the greatest boxer ever is [Roy Jones Jnr] and the greatest man to ever box is Muhammad Ali.”
Roy Jones Jr won titles from middleweight up to heavyweight, winning 66 of his 76 fights, and was most famous for his devastating left hook.
His final fight saw him lose to Anthony Pettis via majority decision on 6 February 2023 in an eight-round exhibition fight.
Bellew says there would be no debate on Jones Jr had one thing happened
Jones Jr wouldn’t be everyone’s choice for best boxer of all time. The aforementioned Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson are also regularly in the conversation however Bellew said that there would be no contest had Jones Jr called time on his career after beating John Ruiz.

“People will never understand why he’s the greatest of all time!” he added.
“Had he retired after this fight it wouldn’t even be a question! I don’t really care about what happened after this! Going back down from HW was a disaster! This is my [greatest of all time].”
