Tommy Fury fails to impress in ring return versus an opponent whose last fight came against an 0-20 boxer

Tommy Fury fought last night for the first time in almost two years after his last outing saw him defeat KSI in 2023.

Tommy Fury‘s boxing career has never truly impressed, but last night made it even more apparent that Fury may never reach the heights of his older brother, Tyson Fury.

After putting his career on hold to go on reality TV show Love Island, Fury returned against an 0-11 opponent, before facing three opponents with a combined record of 2-10.

In 2022 he faced a credible opponent in Daniel Bocianski, who was 10-1 at the time, and Fury won points.

With his career seemingly finally moving upwards, Fury opted to face Jake Paul and KSI instead, and it was only last night, three years after the Bocianski fight, that he faced another professional boxer.

Tommy Fury removes his ring rust against an opponent with a shocking record

After winning against YouTuber KSI by just one round, Fury took some time away from the sport, returning last night in Budapest against Kenan Hanjalic.

Hanjalic had a 5-1 record, but closer inspection reveals that four of his five wins have come against opponents with no wins at all, and his last fight saw Hanjalic beat an 0-20 opponent.

The only two men with wins on their record that Hanjalic has faced were 2-0 Muhamet Hajdaraj, who lost in a razor-close majority decision to Hanjalic, and 6-0 Angelo Morejon, who beat him.

Fury’s opponent had won five times over opponents with a combined record of 2-23.

Unsurprisingly, Fury beat Hanjalic with relative ease, though he failed to look good doing it, and went the six round distance with the lackluster rival.

Fury was rumored to face Matty Floyd but this fight never came to fruition.

Tommy Fury called out an old enemy after his comeback win

Following his comfortable win over Hanjalic, Fury took to the mic and called out his old enemy, and the only man to drop him.

Fury beat Jake Paul in Saudi Arabia in 2023 by split decision, after being dropped by Paul in the eighth round.

After his win last night he said: “Jake Paul’s a b—- and he’s running scared […] Next time I’ll knock him spark out. […] I’ll knock that bum out whenever he wants it.”
