‘There’s no way’… Floyd Mayweather’s teen sensation accused of ducking British prospect

Floyd Mayweather left behind a stellar legacy, but has also brought one new talent into the sport who seems destined for the top.

Floyd Mayweather introduced the boxing world to an impressive prodigy in 2023, a fighter who racked up a seriously impressive amateur record of 61-3.

That fighter is none other than Curmel Moton, who is now an 8-0 pro with six knockout wins.

Moton has called out one fast-rising British prospect, but Eddie Hearn has called the teen sensation’s bluff.

Curmel Moton will not fight Giorgio Visioli, claims Eddie Hearn

7-0 British prospect, Giorgio Visioli, has spoken on sparring Moton, claiming he got the better of the American.

In an interview with Pro Boxing Fans, a reporter said to Hearn: “I spoke to Curmel Moton, he said if you’re so confident then send him an offer and he’ll fight him next.”

Hearn replied: “We’ll make that fight next. There’s no way Moton’s gonna fight Giorgio Visioli, they talk so much, what you do is you fire in an offer like ten times bigger than his biggest ever purse and he’ll be like ‘the offer’s s—‘.”

“I’ve seen the spar and I’m telling you now we’ll take that fight in an instant.”

Visioli also has six knockouts to his name, and was a 13-2 amateur with multiple national championship wins.

Curmel Moton lost to a champion’s cousin in final amateur bout

Moton lost three times as an amateur, with his last loss coming five years after his previous one.

In his final amateur fight, Moton faced Shakur Stevenson‘s cousin, Zaquin Moses, a rising prospect who entered the pro game himself in November last year.

Moses is now 4-0 with three knockouts. Moses won by second-round KO in his latest fight.
