The latest list of the world’s wealthiest sports stars has been revealed and it doesn’t feature the richest boxer.
Forbes have published their top 10 richest sports stars of 2024 and to nobody’s surprise, the list is dominated by soccer stars.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi both feature whilst John Rahm from the world of golf and basketball legends LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Steph Curry also feature, as well as Lamar Jackson from the NFL.
Boxing has received an influx of cash in the last 12 months following the influence of Turki Alalshikh but even though Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk had two huge fight nights, including a battle to become the undisputed heavyweight champion, nobody from the sport was in the top 10.

Canelo Alvarez fails to make top 10 list of wealthiest sports stars
Canelo ‘Saul’ Alvarez was officially dubbed the richest boxer in the world according to the Forbes list, but was listed as the 14th richest athlete in the world.
Alvarez has fought twice in 2024, beating Jaime Munguia and Edgar Berlanga and has earned $85m – with $75m of it coming from his two bouts.
To compare Ronaldo, who tops the list, earned $230m which blows the Mexican’s earnings out of the water.
There is a chance that Canelo could add to his riches in the new year too, with talks of a fight against Jake Paul rumored once the multi-weight world champion is finished with the sport at the elite level.
Who are the richest boxers in the world?
Plenty of other boxers were still able to make it into the top 50 list. Just two places below Canelo was Anthony Joshua, who earned $83m from huge fight nights against Francis Ngannou and Daniel Dubois.
The ‘Gypsy King’ was the only other boxing star to make it into the top 50, coming in as the 42nd wealthiest sports star.
