Katie Taylor has become the biggest figure in women’s boxing, but there is one young amateur who Eddie Hearn believes can replicate the success of the Irish star.
Katie Taylor is gearing up for her third fight with Amanda Serrano after two all-out wars. Taylor vs Serrano 3 will take place on January 11th, and will top a stacked undercard of female fighters, with Jake Paul putting the all-female card together.
Savannah Marshall, Alycia Baumgardner, Ellie Scotney, and Chantelle Cameron are just a few of the names featuring on the card.
However, there is one female fighter, who Eddie Hearn believes is destined for great things, who will make her debut on a card this Saturday in Birmingham, England.

Tiah Mai Ayton is ‘the next Katie Taylor’, says Eddie Hearn
Taylor has undoubtedly made waves in her career, and has been a pivotal figurehead in the changing attitudes towards women’s boxing.
Taylor, who only lost to Chantelle Cameron, paved the way for female boxers around the world, including one Tiah Mai Ayton.
Ayton turns pro this Saturday after a stellar amateur career in which she never lost a fight. Ayton is 21-0 as an amateur, having won numerous championships and tournaments.
In an interview with TalkSport, Hearn said of her debut: “Keep a lookout for a young girl called Tiah Ayton, who is making her professional debut on Saturday. She’s just 18 years of age, never lost as an amateur. This is the next Katie Taylor.”
The card will be headlined by Galal Yafai, who defends his interim flyweight title against Francisco Rodriguez Jr.
Katie Taylor reneged on 12-round handshake with Amanda Serrano
After two 10-round fights with two-minute rounds, the standard for women’s boxing, Serrano challenged Taylor to fight her in a 12-round contest with three-minute rounds, as the men do.
Taylor shook Serrano’s hand, but didn’t stick to the deal, and their trilogy will now be under usual women’s rules.

According to The Ring, Serrano said of the decision: “I’m disappointed that Katie Taylor did not keep her word and make the trilogy 12 three-minute rounds, equal to the men.”
“This is a record-setting payday for both of us, and we owed it to the fans to honor the handshake deal we made. She didn’t.”
