Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford is currently preparing for the biggest fight of his life when he takes on Canelo Alvarez in September.
As two of the few undisputed champions in the four-belt era, Crawford and Alvarez will compete for the fully unified super middleweight title. Although Crawford is making the move up from two weight divisions below, many still favor ‘Bud’.
Crawford’s last outing saw him defeat Israil Madirmov in a super welterweight bout. Weighing in at 153.5 lbs, it was a career-high for Crawford.
Taking a super fight against Alvarez shows that Crawford is in the business of taking blockbuster matchups at this point in his career. However, there is one man that Crawford would not accept a fight with.

Terence Crawford says that he would never have accepted a fight with Tim Bradley
Speaking to Ring Champs with Ak & Barak, Crawford was discussing former lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis.
When speaking about the fighter, the subject of Davis not wanting to fight Shakur Stevenson due to their friendship came up.
The podcast host then asked Crawford if there was anyone in his life he would not want to fight due to a close relationship. Although ‘Bud’ initially answered no, he then mentioned one name.
“I think Tim Bradley would be like that [too close to fight]. I wouldn’t have fought Tim.”
Former world champion Tim Bradley retired after a meeting with Manny Pacquiao in April 2016. At that time, Crawford was a world super lightweight champion with a 28-0 record.
The pair are understood to have a close relationship, as well as training together in the past.
However, Crawford said that he would have, at one stage in his career, fought Floyd Mayweather. Although the two have a strong relationship now, Crawford said the pair weren’t close when Mayweather was an active fighter.
Terence Crawford jokes about how to beat Floyd Mayweather
After saying he would have taken on Mayweather in the past before they developed a stronger relationship, Crawford was asked how someone could defeat ‘Money’.
“You’ve got to have four arms,” Crawford said. “Six eyes, to beat Floyd.”
When ‘Bud’ was asked if he thought that Mayweather was a better fighter than him, Crawford did not answer the question.
Mayweather’s final professional career fight came in August 2017, when he faced MMA star Conor McGregor.
