Terence Crawford enters his fight with Canelo Alvarez with an unbeaten record, and as such, seems to have a blueprint to defeat the Mexican, according to a matchmaker.
Making his super middleweight limit debut next weekend, Terence Crawford will take on the undisputed champion Canelo Alvarez in a title showdown, hoping to add a third undisputed crown to his mantle.

And with both ramping up their pre-fight assessments of each other’s ability in the ring, Crawford has been handed a lifeline to land himself a potential victory.

According to a veteran promoter, at least, Crawford would be wise to study Canelo’s recent pair of losses in the ring.

The latest in a long list of boxing figures to weigh in on next week’s blockbuster between Canelo and Crawford is Matchroom Boxing leader Eddie Hearn.
And as far as the Dagenham native is concerned, while both Crawford and Canelo are getting up there in terms of age in the ring, the key factor in this clash is the Jalisco native’s prior struggles in two career losses.

So much so, in fact, Hearn claimed that if Crawford is to find success, he should study Canelo’s decision loss to Russian star Dmitry Bivol back in 2022.
“Right now, my head is just leading with (Terence) Crawford, slightly,” Hearn told The Stomping Ground. “…It’s tough to call at this stage of their careers, because they are old. And I don’t know — it’s like who’s getting older quicker.
“He (Canelo) has a tendency to not be (sic) that aggressive,” Hearn continued. “And I think if he’s not aggressive against Crawford, and Crawford can control the fight and use angles, and fight in spurts like (Dmitry) Bivol did, then I think he’s got a great chance.”
However, given his comfort at 168lbs, Canelo has issued a stark warning to Crawford ahead of the Nebraska native’s first outing at super middleweight.

Making his own debut at super middleweight back in 2019, Mexican megastar Canelo became the first undisputed champion at the weight class in the sport of boxing with his knockout win over Caleb Plant.

However, failing to dispatch any opponent inside the 12-round distance in the time since his 2021 stoppage of Plant, Canelo has been criticized for his propensity to coast later on during his title reign.
But nevertheless, Canelo has warned Crawford how the power end of the spectrum lies with him — something he expects the challenger to find out very soon when they lock horns next weekend.
“As soon as he (Terence Crawford) feels the power, he feels everything, he’s going to be the same [as other opponents],” Canelo Alvarez told The Ring.
“We need to be very focused and be careful,” Canelo explained. “Anybody can hurt you, right? But if you’re smart and you know how to box, everything is very difficult.”
