Terence Crawford is undertaking a monumental task as he climbs two weight divisions to face Canelo Alvarez for his undisputed super-middleweight titles.
Terence Crawford struggled against Israil Madrimov in his last contest, but after emerging victorious, has embarked on a far riskier journey, going up two further divisions to fight the face of boxing in Canelo Alvarez.
Canelo recently became a two-time undisputed super-middleweight after his win over William Scull, setting up the Las Vegas mega-fight for all the marbles.
Canelo has a clear size advantage, being the naturally bigger man, but that has not stopped many from picking Bud to win.
There is one man, though, who just cannot see anything but a Canelo victory.

Ryan Garcia is backing Canelo to beat Terence Crawford
One man who is backing Canelo all the way is fan-favorite Ryan Garcia.
Speaking on X’s Spaces feature, when asked if he gave Crawford any chance against Canelo, Garcia said, “I don’t see it happening.”
Garcia is now 24-2 after his recent loss to Rolly Romero, Manny Pacquiao’s potential next opponent, and continued: “I’ve trained with Canelo, I’ve been around him. Bro can really push back heavyweights… […] This is the first time Canelo’s bigger than somebody in a longtime, so it’s like the weights are lifted off and he can fight more freely.”
“Where I’d put my money is Canelo Alvarez.”
Garcia, who formerly trained under Eddy Reynoso alongside Canelo, took his first loss as he was counted out after a brutal body shot left him unable to continue in his own mega-fight against Gervonta Davis.
The fight has gripped the masses, pitting two pound-for-pound elites against one another in a mega-fight in Las Vegas, and has stirred much debate, with those in the Space with Garcia questioning him and suggesting Crawford may emerge victorious.
Garcia’s concluding statement is one that resonates with boxing fans all over the world – “When you have two great fighters, great things can happen.”
Both Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez have questions to answer
With next month’s fight fast-approaching, it is worth comparing the stats of both fighters to see how much of a chance each man has.
Did Crawford hit his ceiling with Madrimov? Will the further weight jump be too much for him? How will he perform at the heavier weight?
Though most queries surrounding Crawford are in relation to his weight, Canelo, too, has some unanswered questions revolving around his recent outings.
Has Canelo’s knockout power gone? Does he have too much mileage? Is he slowing down?
Canelo has not scored a stoppage win since his 2021 win over Caleb Plant.
