Current WBO World Lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis garnered headlines in February 2025 when he claimed his first world title.
Davis knocked out Denys Berinchyk to claim the belt, extending his professional record to 13-0 with the ninth knockout of his career.
For his first world title defense, Davis will welcome a challenge from Edwin De Los Santos in Norfolk on June 7th. The Dominican fighter goes into the bout with a professional record of 16-2, with 14 wins by knockout.
Despite De Los Santos having a good showing in a loss to Shakur Stevenson, friend of Davis, ‘The Businessman’ has been critical of the fighter’s skills.

Keyshawn Davis not impressed by the skills of Edwin De Los Santos
In a recent interview with Brian Campbell, Davis was seemingly not too concerned with the abilities of the title challenger ahead of their headline bout.
When the podcast host asked Davis about the power of De Los Santos and any potential concerns the champion might have, the fighter began to laugh. “Keyshawn Davis do not give a —-,” Davis said, speaking in the third person.
“He don’t care about nothing that people is saying; he don’t care about the fighter that he’s fighting.”
The champion then went on to say, “I’m going to become the greatest of all time.”
Speaking on his next opponent, Davis said, “I’m not worried about De Los Santos and this so-called power that he’s supposed to bring. I don’t care, I’m going to knock you out, bro.”
Edwin De Los Santos has not been stopped in his professional career
Should Davis wish to live up to his claims that he will stop De Los Santos, he will have to do what no other man has done to this point.
Although De Los Santos has suffered two losses in his career, both have come by way of decision. If Davis, who has been compared to Sugar Ray Leonard, add a 10th knockout to his resume, he would be the first fighter to stop De Los Santos.
However, in 2022, the fighter was knocked down. Facing Jose Valenzuela (12-0), De Los Santos would hit the canvas in a back-and-forth fight that lasted just three rounds.
The second round would see De Los Santos go down, before he was able to stop Valenzuela in the third round.
