Leigh Wood wants to finish his rivalry with a fellow British boxing legend once and for all.
In his incredible career, the Nottingham fighter has proven himself as one of the most entertaining competitors in recent memory, regularly snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.
However, having lost his last bout in convincing fashion against Anthony Cacace, his time at the top may be at an end.
However, while the icon is no longer the force he was at his sparkling best, the brawler still believes he’s got enough left in the tank to claim bragging rights over his nemesis one more time.

Leigh Wood wants to ‘shut’ Josh Warrington ‘up’
Leigh Wood is keen for a second dance with Josh Warrington.
The pair first faced off on October 7, 2023, at Sheffield Arena, with ‘The Leeds Warrior’ dominating the fight until Wood bounced back with an astonishing knockout punch.
Now, ‘Leigh-Thal’ is keen to do the double over his old foe.
In an interview with IFL TV, he said: “I think there are a few fights for me that could be made, I think the Warrington fight makes sense, not just for me, but possibly for him as well.
“I’ve got a really good relationship with Frank Warren as well, so I’ll be talking to him in a few weeks. I’ve got something pencilled in with him. He may give me an offer for something.
“But the Warrington fight, I think, makes sense for both of us, and I’d like to really shut him up for good. How he went after the last fight, there’s genuine needle there. I don’t really like the guy, so that’s probably the best option for both of us.”
Leigh Wood knocked his undefeated opponent out of the ring in final round stoppage to claim comeback victory in 2022
While his win over Warrington certainly made for a dramatic twist, it isn’t the only time Wood has been able to turn a fight on its head.
During a truly dramatic encounter, the sportsman found himself on the canvas inside the very first round.
However, rather than lose faith, the scrapper bit down on his gumshield and marched forward.
In a shocking moment, Wood knocked his opponent out in the twelfth round.
