Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois will fight for a second time on July 19th, though many believe the result could be entirely different.
Oleksandr Usyk defeated Daniel Dubois in 2023 in Poland, after being dropped by a controversial low-blow from Dubois, and rallying to get up and finish the Brit with a jab.
Dubois was criticized for the loss, as, similar to the Joyce fight, he was counted out whilst opting to take a knee.
Dubois has since been on a dominant run, stopping Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and Anthony Joshua. One man, a fan-favorite boxer who spars Dubois, has given his say on the Brit’s chances in the fight.

‘He’s got the momentum’… Johnny Fisher believes Dubois will beat Usyk
In an interview with talkSport, Johnny ‘The Romford Bull’ Fisher, who lost to Dave Allen by stoppage last time out, was asked about the upcoming undisputed heavyweight clash.
Fisher spoke on his time sparring Dubois, and said, “That man punches really hard. Shook me to my boots many a time, even with 20oz gloves on.”
Fisher admitted Dubois was “by far” the hardest puncher he’s shared a ring with.
“His jab is like an electric shock.”
The fan-favorite Essex boxer gave his prediction, and is backing the Brit all the way.
“I’m backing the Brit. I like Daniel, I’m letting that probably cloud my judgement a bit but I think the power of the man […] He’s got the power and he’s got the momentum after them great wins over Joshua, Hrgovic, and Miller. He can do it, and he’ll do it for Great Britain.”
Fisher stated he believes a body shot KO will be Dubois’ most likely route to victory.
When asked for what round Dubois gets a KO in, Fisher playfully replied, “It’s either gonna be round one or any of the other rounds up to round 12”.
Oleksandr Usyk beat the only other man to stop Daniel Dubois
In 2020, Dubois faced Joe ‘The Juggernaut’ Joyce for the British title. Joyce stopped Dubois after fracturing his eye socket, forcing him to take a knee in the 10th round.
Dubois was up on two scorecards at the time.

Usyk faced Joyce way back in 2013 as part of the World Series of Boxing. Joyce was coming off of an amateur win over Hrgovic, but could not replicate his success against the Ukrainian, who won every single round of their 5-round contest.
