Shannon Briggs calls out two former heavyweight world champions as he will ‘1000% fight soon’

Shannon ‘The Cannon’ Briggs had a unique career that saw him earn some devastating knockouts.

Briggs has shared the ring with Lennox Lewis and Vitali Klitschko, as well as having a win over George Foreman to earn a 60-6-1 record.

With Briggs’s last professional bout coming in 2016, it seemed as if fans had seen the last of the former world champion.

However, Briggs has recently expressed desire to return to the sport despite being 53 years old.

Shannon Briggs calls out David Haye and Wladimir Klitschko for comeback fight

Despite a nine year absence from professional boxing, Briggs is seemingly eyeing up a return to action.

Speaking to IFL TV in a recent interview, Briggs was asked if he still wanted a fight with former world champion David Haye. ‘The Cannon’ responded by saying, “I want anybody! Anybody can get it; Klitschko, Haye, anybody.”

It is likely Wladimir Klitschko that Briggs is referring to in the interview. At the start of 2025, Briggs called out Wladimir Klitschko for a return to the ring as the pair have a long-running feud.

The American heavyweight was then asked if he will return to boxing, to which Briggs replied, “100%, 1000%, I will be fighting soon.”

Former UFC star Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson last competed in MMA in 2019 and retired with a professional record of 38-14. Among his wins, 20 have come by way of knockout.
