Shane Mosley will return to the ring after retiring in 2016 against Matt Floyd in London.
Shane Mosley retired in 2016 after being beaten by David Avanesyan via unanimous decision. He left behind a record of 49-10, which included wins over Oscar De La Hoya, as well as huge fights with Canelo Alvarez, Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, and Miguel Cotto.
Mosley lost to just eight men in his near-60 fight career, but will now return at the age of 53 against 15-2 36-year-old Matt ‘The Jedi’ Floyd.
Mosley spoke to Bloody Knockout about his career ahead of his comeback fight.

Shane Mosley names first win over Oscar De La Hoya as his favorite
When asked about his most satisfying win of his career, Mosley named the win that many would expect – his win over Oscar De La Hoya.
He said, “The first fight with Oscar. Everybody was there. They got the chance to witness greatness.”
Mosley and De La Hoya first locked horns in 2000 when the pair fought over the WBC and IBA welterweight titles.
De La Hoya was 32-1 at the time, having lost only to Felix Trinidad by majority decision, whilst Mosley’s record sat at 34-0.
The fight was closely contested, and was one round away from being scored a draw on two scorecards.
One judge gave the bout to Mosley with a score of 116-112, another gave it to De La Hoya with a score of 115-113. The final judge gave it to Mosley with a 115-113 score, meaning Mosley beat De La Hoya by split decision.
The pair rematched in 2003, but things did not go much different, and Mosley won once more, this time by unanimous decision.
Shane Mosley predicts ‘execution’ against Matt Floyd
Mosley will return on July 25th against Matt Floyd in the O2 Indigo in London, and the legendary former champion has predicted he will win in dominant fashion.

“I think that a lot of people are gonna be surprised with how well I look at this age. […] It’s gonna lead to something else that’s gonna be a little bigger.”
Despite the bold words, Mosley is at a huge disadvantage as a result of his age, and Floyd believes he will KO Mosley.
Mosley follows in the likes of Manny Pacquiao, who will return against Mario Barrios on July 19th, and Ricky Hatton, who will face Eisa Al-Dah on December 2nd.
