Shakur Stevenson looked better than ever, according to a legendary boxer.
On Saturday night, the American produced a sublime performance to defend his WBC lightweight world championship against William Zepeda.
Over the years, the slick fighter has received criticism for his style, and more recently, Barry McGuigan slammed Stevenson for his comments about Sugar Ray Robinson.
However, in the aftermath of his display at the weekend, the 28-year-old has received enormous praise from an icon.

Mike Tyson praises Shakur Stevenson
Mike Tyson was blown away by Shakur Stevenson’s performance at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York, USA.
In the aftermath, the former world heavyweight champion headed to social media to voice his opinion.
He tweeted: “In my opinion, @ShakurStevenson looked the best he ever looked in his last fight: Those masterful combinations and head movements.
“He’s still young and doing that, and he looked superb. And everybody wants him to show people he can take a punch, but the art is hit and not get hit.
“That’s boxing, and that was the best fighter he ever fought. The fight was tough, and he beat him with no problem. In the middle of the ring, he was beautiful. I just don’t like when he gets on the ropes for too long.”
Shakur Stevenson dominated one of the toughest fighters in boxing
While Stevenson was excellent at the weekend, his win over Zepeda isn’t the only time he’s impressed the fans.
Despite producing a few lacklustre performances, on occasion, the New Jerseyan has looked superb.
In a fight in which he won his second world title, Stevenson dominated one of boxing’s bravest fighters.
