Ben Whittaker and Liam Cameron‘s first fight ended in controversy after Whittaker suffered an ankle injury under bizarre circumstances. Six months later, their rematch was barely competitive as Whittaker put on one of the most dominant performances of his career.
After a back-and-forth opening round between Whittaker and Cameron, Whittaker poured on the pressure in Round 2. Whittaker landed a flush right hand that badly wobbled Cameron, before pressing him against the ropes as the referee waved off the fight.
For Whittaker, the fun had just begun after the referee stepped in.

Cameron immediately protested the stoppage, and some viewers believed the referee was too quick to wave off the fight as Cameron attempted to regain his composure. Despite this, that didn’t stop Whittaker from continuing his rivalry with Cameron and his team after their rematch.
Whittaker sprinted over to Cameron’s corner, launching his head out of the ring and screaming at Cameron’s coaches. One of the coaches attempted to slap Whittaker after getting in their faces, nearly sparking an all-out brawl ringside between the two sides.
Luckily, security quickly intervened and prevented further chaos from igniting. Whittaker and Cameron shared a cordial post-fight moment and seemed to put their complicated rivalry to rest.

After retaining his belts in bizarre fashion in the first go-around, Whittaker made a big statement with the victory in the rematch over Cameron. Now, the UK star is set up for an exciting 2025, and could be on the verge of facing top light heavyweights in the ring.
Before his back-to-back fights with Cameron, Whittaker won his first eight fights, including knockouts of Khalid Graidia and Stiven Dredhaj. Meanwhile, Cameron is now winless over his last three fights, including a controversial split decision loss to Lyndon Arthur last June.
Whittaker, Moses Itauma, and others are part of a promising future for UK boxing. After a shutout performance against Cameron, don’t be surprised if Whittaker’s next fight gets booked in the coming weeks.
