Ryan Garcia sends chilling warning to Terence Crawford amid Devin Haney lawsuit

Ryan Garcia has, once again, dominated boxing’s latest news stories after it emerged on Friday that Devin Haney had filed a lawsuit against him.

The 25-year-old floored Haney three times enroute to a comprehensive victory on points when the pair collided in a controversial showdown earlier this year.

But then, the result was overturned to a no-contest when it was revealed that Ryan Garcia had tested positive for Ostarine – a performance-enhancing substance.

And now, Haney and his father, Bill Haney, have decided to take legal action against the American star, alleging battery, fraud and unjust enrichment.

Ryan Garcia says that Terence Crawford is overrated

Despite being somewhat preoccupied, with the thought of an imminent courtroom battle no doubt weighing heavily on his shoulders, Garcia has decided to undermine the remarkable accomplishments of Terence Crawford live on social media.

While he is yet to fight above 143.5 lbs – the weight he reached against Devin Haney – Garcia has called for a clash with ‘Bud’, who became a four-division world champion after defeating super welterweight titleist Israil Madrimov.

“I’ve called him out already,” Garcia said, live on X. “I think he literally is only trying to fight Canelo Alvarez, [but] I don’t think that’s going to happen.

“I would love to fight ‘Bud’ Crawford. I don’t think he’s as good as people say he is – I’ve said it publicly and I’ll say it on live right now.

“If ‘Bud’ is listening, I would love to fight you. I feel like I would literally beat the s*** out of you. You’re a good fighter but I don’t think you’ve ever fought somebody with talent, explosiveness, and power.”

Will Terence Crawford fight Canelo Alvarez next?

Garcia is correct in that Crawford has only expressed an interest in fighting pound-for-pound star Canelo Alvarez, who comes off a dominant performance against Edgar Berlanga.

However, the size difference between Crawford and Canelo – with Alvarez campaigning up at super middleweight – has raised several concerns surrounding the potential blockbuster matchup.

But still, ‘Bud’ seems to have plenty of options to consider at 154 lbs, with WBC and WBO champion Sebastian Fundora eyeing up the Crawford clash too.

The 37-year-old, though, is seemingly banking on the fact that he will secure a dustup with Canelo, or else the two-weight undisputed champion may just embrace the end of his scintillating career.
