Roy Jones Jr. has once more rekindled his recent rivalry with Floyd Mayweather, calling into question the competition the Michigan striker faced in his career.
A decorated champion as high as the heavyweight limit, Roy Jones Jr. has shared a recent rivalry with the unbeaten Floyd Mayweather, with the duo engaging in a terse rivalry on social media.
And blasting Mayweather for allegedly avoiding a fight with Amir Khan in his initial retirement in favor of taking on Andre Berto, Jones Jr. has once more called into question the former’s run to the top.

Despite running roughshod through numerous foes during his initial rise to the middleweight limit, Mayweather has come under fire for apparently avoiding a clash with a Russian-born star.
Roy Jones Jr. blasts Floyd Mayweather over failed Kostya Tszyu fight
Making history as the first undisputed light welterweight champion during the three-belt era, Russian-Australian star Kostya Tszyu was long speculated to prove the most difficult puzzle for Mayweather to solve in his early career.
And with the Grand Rapids native recently mocking Jones Jr.’s infamous knockout loss to Antonio Tarver on social media, the Pensacola native has fired back at Mayweather.
Ripping the unbeaten former world champion for apparently avoiding both Paul Williams and then Vernon Forrest during his rise, Jones Jr. also blasted Mayweather for his lack of urgency to fight Tszyu.
“Did he (Floyd Mayweather) fight Kostya Tszyu?” Jones Jr. asked Andre Ward on his podcast. “Okay. Alright.
“Okay, did he fight Paul Williams? Alright, alright. Did he fight Vernon Forest? I’m just saying — did he fight Vernon Forest? …Anybody who was in my weight class that came to Nevada, I was going to fight.
“If you had a name and you came to my weight class, we were fighting,” Jones Jr. explained.

Paul Williams denies Floyd Mayweather ducked him
Revered as a massive challenge to Mayweather in a potential fight back in 2010, Williams was tipped to fight the unbeaten star after his split decision win over Sergio Martinez.

However, according to Atlanta star Williams himself, Mayweather never ducked a fight with him, claiming the timing was off a potential showdown.
“I don’t think we should’ve — it wasn’t right for us to fight,” Williams told ThaBoxingVoice in 2015. “Everything happens for a reason.
“Like everything happens in time,” Williams continued. “On the cards, it wasn’t the time for me to fight him yet. I guess he was so hot back then and I’m up and coming. They were building me up and building me up.”
