Who had Devin Haney attacking Sylvester Stallone on their 2025 bingo cards, anyone?
After a nightmare 2024, ‘The Dream’ will return on the Ring Magazine USA Series card in May, although the popular American currently has a new opponent in his crosshairs.
Taking to social media, the former world super-lightweight world champion launched a scathing attack on Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone in one of the weirdest beefs in recent memory.

Devin ‘The Dream’ Haney takes aim at Hollywood icon Sylvester Stallone
Sylvester Stallone went viral earlier this week after an old Instagram post re-surfaced; in which the ‘Rocky’ actor claimed that ‘life was getting easier’ and that people were a lot ‘tougher’ back in the 70s and 80s.
The famed actor would justify his view by displaying an old pair of boxing gloves that he wore during the first Rocky movie from 1977, stating “They don’t even allow these today because they’re so dangerous.
“But that’s what they used when I did the film. They’re barely six ounces, they’re Reyes, and they’re literally lethal… I still have them because it’s a time when people were tougher, sorry [but] they were.
“Life is just getting a little easier and easier and easier, and it’s great, wonderful, but it’s not – I think when we force ourselves into tough situations, that’s what the human creature is supposed to do.”
Stallone then claimed that technology such as ‘suitcases with wheels’, electric lawnmowers and Artificial Intelligence were making people lazy and that he “cherishes hard work.”
Cue Devin Haney, who responded to Stallone’s social media post by claiming that the dude ‘doesn’t know a left hook from a fish hook.’
“Dude don’t know a left hook from a fish hook.. & got the nerve to speak on times being easier in boxing like he wasn’t just an actor.. buddy them rocky movies wasn’t real.”
He followed up a few hours later with: “Sylvester Stallone is a legend.. & I have nothing but love for the whole rocky series.”
Devin Haney set to return on Ring Magazine USA Series card in May
Earlier this week, it was announced that Devin Haney would be returning to the ring as part of a triple-headliner, backed by Chairman of the GEA, Turki Alalshikh.
Haney is reportedly set to face Jose Ramirez in the co-main event of the evening, with Ryan Garcia vs Rolly Romero featuring as the headlining attraction.
Ramirez had been on a nice little run of form, scoring three big wins in a row, before suffering a unanimous decision loss to Arnold Barboza Jr back in November.
A reminder that whilst Haney originally lost to Ryan Garica via majority decision, that result was overturned to a No Contest after ‘King Ry’ tested positive for Ostarine – consequently, Haney remains perfect as a professional with a 31-0 record.
There’s also a heavyweight showdown between Martin Bakole and Efe Ajagba to look forward to – no other bouts have yet been confirmed for that May 2 card.
