Amid some sizable plans for his return to the ring, Daniel Dubois’ immediate future at heavyweight has received quite the positive update.
Sidelined since earlier this summer, former IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois suffered his second career loss to Oleksandr Usyk in a savage knockout defeat, failing to capture the undisputed crown.

Since then, the Londoner has ditched many of his coaches and team personnel — leading to some stark criticizms of the ex-champion’s camp and set up.

However, confirming plans for an imminent comeback to the ring, it seems that return may come sooner rather than later, in fact.
Daniel Dubois expected to fight again in 2025
Entering the ring for the first time this year in his rematch with Usyk, Dubois had previously stopped common foe Anthony Joshua with a hellacious knockout win to defend his IBF crown a year ago in his native London.

And usually limited to just two fights a year during recent times at least, Dubois is in line to compete once more before the turn of 2026, according to his new adviser.
“We’re looking to nail something down very soon,” Sam Jones told IFL TV. “Daniel (Dubois), hopefully, will return before the end of the year.
“We’re working on it,” Jones continued. “And, yeah — his next fight is gonna be a big fight. It’s not gonna be like a ‘gimmie’ fight, it’s gonna be straight back into a big fight.”
And with a potential year-end return in the pipeline for Dubois, the Greenwich puncher may begin his path to a laid-out plan to join the heavyweight elites.
Daniel Dubois reveals plans for heavyweight future
First capturing the WBA heavyweight crown against Trevor Bryan back in 2022, Dubois would snatch the interim IBF title with a knockout of Filip Hrgovic, before retaining the undisputed belt in his infamous stoppage of Joshua.
And in a statement addressing his split from coach Don Charles last month, Dubois — who has already been offered a return fight by a fellow British starlet — confirmed plans to become a two-time world heavyweight champion.
” I feel it’s time for a change,” Daniel Dubois wrote on Instagram. “
“A fresh approach for the next phase of my career, as I push forward to become a two-time heavyweight champion of the world, God bless.
“I’ll be making a further announcement regarding my new team structure very soon.”
