Chris Eubank Jr. has been fined £100,000 for his egg attack on opponent Conor Benn, but a former foe who Eubank left severely injured has come to his defense on social media.
Chris Eubank Jr. is set to face Conor Benn in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 26th in a fight destined to extend the legacy of their fathers.
The fight was meant to happen in 2022, but was cancelled when Benn was found guilty of using PEDs, something he blamed on too many eggs in his diet.
Eubank Jr., whose father revealed the insult that cost him a world title, escalated the pair’s rivalry when he brought an egg to their press conference and cracked it on Benn’s head. He has since been fined £100K.

Nick Blackwell slams British Board of Boxing Control for Chris Eubank Jr. fine
An unexpected opponent has come to Eubank Jr.’s defense following his extortionate fine.
Nick Blackwell, who Eubank Jr. defeated in 2016 for the British middleweight title has vocalized his thoughts on the fine:
“That’s CRAP…. BBBOC does nothing to support us Brain Injured Boxers or Boxers in need”
He continued: “They’ve never done a thing to help me or any other injured Boxer who needs it……”
Eubank Jr.’s win over Blackwell was marred by a brain injury sustained by Blackwell which left him incapacitated for some time and severely impacted his abilities in life since being forced to hang up the gloves.
Blackwell’s post came in response to a video of Paul Smith Jr., brother of Liam and Callum Smith, who said:
“Every boxer is thinking ‘Where the f— does the money go?’ I want to see receipts.”
Liam Smith, however, said he wasn’t surprised by the fine Eubank received. Fans, however, have labeled Eubank’s fine ‘eggstortionate’.
