Even though Oleksandr Usyk is looking increasingly unstoppable, Shawn Porter has revealed the Ukrainian’s weakness, highlighting their forgotten amateur meeting.
Earlier this month, Oleksandr Usyk once again proved why he is one of the best boxers on the planet, once again defeating Tyson Fury in their heavyweight title fight.
The undefeated Ukrainian faced off with former foe, Daniel Dubois following his sensational performance leading to a potential rematch with the Brit.

Shawn Porter reveals a potential weakness in Oleksandr Usyk’s game
With the 37-year-old looking increasingly impressive, there are many pundits who believe he is the pound-for-pound best fighter in the sport.
Despite that, a former opponent of his in his amateur days, Shawn Porter has revealed what he thinks is a weakness in the Ukrainian’s game.
‘Showtime’ Porter defeated Usyk back in 2006, handing him one of his 15 losses on the amateur scene. At the time, Porter was 5’7″ and Usyk was a slim 165lbs.
“It was a really good match,” Porter described of his 23-20 unanimous decision victory.
“It was a close fight the whole way, but going into the last round, my dad was coaching me, and we had this other guy, Dan Campbell, he was the 2008 Olympic coach, he’s down on the floor putting the stool in, putting the bucket in, putting the water in.
“Going into that fourth round, before I walked out and the bell rang, he said ‘Shawn, if you line him up, he’s there for the right hand – if you throw a straight right, you’ll land it and get him.’ And that’s exactly what happened.
“We were moving around, we were doing our thing and I landed a right hand on Usyk and he stumbled back. And being Shawn Porter, you already know I jumped on him and ended up winning 23-20,” Porter continued.
Usyk’s former training partner recalls finishing him with a body shot
However, the former welterweight champion isn’t the only one to come out and insinuate that maybe Usyk isn’t as invincible as he seems to be at the moment.
The Ukrainian’s first meeting is of course covered in huge controversy to this day as Dubois seemingly had Usyk finished with a huge shot to the body which was called a low blow by the referee.
Upcoming heavyweight, Martin Bakole also claims he put Usyk out of training for over a week when he sparred him as he crushed him with a huge body shot of his own.
