Following his win over Tyson Fury at the end of last year, Oleksandr Usyk was left wondering what could possibly be left for him to achieve in the sport of boxing.
After scoring back-to-back wins and subsequently retiring Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk doesn’t have many more options in the heavyweight division.
So much so, that Usyk is considering a move back down to cruiserweight to take on Jai Opetaia. Despite that, the Ukrainian seems to have decided to stay at heavyweight to once again attempt to capture undisputed status.
The savior of boxing, Turki Alalshikh recently put together one of the greatest boxing events of all time and on the card was a scheduled title fight between Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker.

Oleksandr Usyk warned he will get stopped in potential rematch
Unfortunately for the fans, though, just a few days out from the fight, Dubois withdrew from the fight after suffering a bizarre illness.
Martin Bakole stepped in on late notice and attempted to cause a monumental upset against the soaring Parker but he was stopped in the second round.
After picking up his sixth win in a row, Parker hoped that he’d earn a shot against Usyk, however, the 38-year-old champion seems to be favoring a rematch against Dubois after their controversial first meeting.
However, Usyk has been warned by fellow heavyweight, Johnny Fisher, that if he does rematch the big Brit, he will get stopped.
“I think Dubois can stop him, he stopped him last time, that body shot I’ve seen given 100 times over before. I’ve got a huge admiration for Oleksandr Usyk, probably the best of our generation, but if there’s one man who’s gonna stop Usyk now after he’s gone through Joshua and Fury, Dubois is the final man and as a Great Brit, I’ll be backing Daniel Dubois every step of the way,” Fisher told SecondsOut Boxing.
“Dubois is a different animal than what he was 18 months ago, I was sparring him 18 months ago and he’s come on leaps and bounds since then… I think he could be the favorite going into that fight,” Fisher continued.
Can Daniel Dubois dethrone Oleksandr Usyk?
Although Usyk has looked relatively untouchable throughout the entirety of his career, his fight against Dubois was the closest he has come to a loss.
The body shot that the Brit crushed him with was one of the most controversial punches in recent meomory, with the majority of the fanbase under the belief that it wasn’t a low blow.
‘Dynamite’ Dubois’ knockout of Anthony Joshua last September showcased that the 27-year-old can certainly cause the Ukrainian problems once again, however, he will likely find himself as the underdog going into that potential fight.
