Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury undercard features former Terence Crawford opponent and future heavyweight star

Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury will lock horns for their eagerly awaited rematch on December 21, headlining a mouthwatering card in Saudi Arabia.

Reigning heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk is no doubt hoping for a repeat of their first encounter in May, when he emerged victorious following a compelling clash.

As for Tyson Fury, there is a high chance that we will see a bigger, more destructive version of the Brit, looking to end proceedings inside the distance.

But while the main event will, of course, take center stage, there are also several intriguing undercard matchups that fans can now get excited for.

Who is fighting on the undercard of the Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury rematch?

Now, unlike his previous Riyadh Season shows, boxing power broker Turki Alalshikh will not be delivering a star-studded card from top to bottom.

Rather, the matchups taking place at the end of this year are exceptionally competitive and, without involving any real household names, should nonetheless make for captivating spectacles.

The co-main event, for instance, is a fight that just makes perfect sense, with Serhii Bohachuk and Israil Madrimov – two solid contenders at super welterweight – both looking to get back to winning ways.

Rising heavyweight star Moses Itauma finds himself in an intriguing crossroads fight too, taking on Demsey McKean in a big step up in levels.

Perhaps the most evenly-matched contest on the card, though, is Dennis McCann vs Peter McGrail – two highly-touted super bantamweight prospects battling it out in another Queensberry vs Matchroom showdown.

Another exciting heavyweight prospect, Johnny Fisher, will also enter an all-British domestic dustup against seasoned gatekeeper Dave Allen.

And to round things off, Isaac Lowe and Lee McGregor – two super featherweights looking to get back on top – should deliver another competitive affair, with plenty of British interest attached to it.

One fight that has unsurprisingly been heaped with praise is Bohachuk vs Madrimov, a battle between two Eastern European warriors.

On social media, one fan said: β€œBohachuk vs Madeimov is a great fight! I’m looking forward to that one! Salute Big Turki,” with his comment being one of the most liked.

With both combatants coming off close defeats to elite-level operators – Bohachuk to Vergil Ortiz Jr and Madrimov to Terence Crawford – the winner should put himself next in line for a world title shot.

And the 154 lb division, as it happens, is paraded by three great champions, including Crawford, Sebastian Fundora and Bakhram Murtazaliev.
