Oleksandr Usyk urged to retire by Robert Garcia
Former IBF super featherweight king and now renowned trainer, Robert Garcia, has urged Oleksandr Usyk to call it a day.
Right now, the Ukrainian is figuring out his next move, which could well be a showdown with the division’s most in-form contender.
During a video uploaded to the Boxing Scene YouTube channel, Chris Algieri claimed Joseph Parker is a dangerous fight for Usyk.
Garcia agreed, adding that while he thinks the Ukrainian would win, if he carries on boxing, he could live to regret it.
The trainer explained: “I would love to see him retire on top of the world.
“I don’t think he has a problem with Joseph Parker, but it’s still going to be tough; his body has already taken a lot — he’s 38.
“If he continues fighting, we’re going to end up seeing him against a young lion, totally dominating because of his age and the wear and tear on his body, and we’ll see a sad ending where that’s what we’re going to remember.
“I would like to remember him as the greatest of all time. I would love for him to retire now. I know there’s so much money, and it’s tempting, so I can’t blame him. He’s on top of his game and can dominate these top fighters, but sooner or later, his body isn’t going to respond.”

Currently, nobody in the heavyweight division is performing better than Parker and Agit Kabayel.
However, a former world champion doesn’t believe either gives the reigning champion his hardest fights.
Interestingly, an icon named Usyk’s two toughest challenges.
