Oleksandr Usyk provides one-word response to potential boxing return against undefeated knockout star

Oleksandr Usyk has provided the biggest update yet on a potential super fight the boxing community seems to be gunning for.

Sidelined through another niggling injury, two-time and current undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has been tied to a whole host of potential opponents in his return to the ring.

And while a title fight with current interim WBO heavyweight champion, Joseph Parker, continues to draw links, the Ukrainian has been lined up for a laundry list of potential challenges next, too.

Namely, an undefeated prospect has emerged as a potential future suitor for Usyk’s belt — and seems to have caught the attention of the undisputed champion.

Oleksandr Usyk provides update on future Moses Itauma fight

Whilst not in attendance in Riyadh over the course of last weekend, it seems Usyk did manage to catch the undefeated Moses Itauma’s big victory over veteran challenger Dillian Whyte in just his thirteenth professional fight.

And while the Slovak-born challenger has already been tied to a potential title charge against Usyk in his immediate return, Itauma has been backed by a whole host of talent to cause him major concern.

Reacting to his win in the Middle East nevertheless, Usyk had high praise for Itauma, before providing an insight on whether or not he is interested in fighting him in the future.

“I think (Moses) Itauma [is] the future for boxing,” Usyk said during an impromptu interview with Box Nation. “I like this guy.

“Yeah, definitely,” Usyk replied when asked if he could potentially fight Itauma in 2026.”

If a massive fight between Usyk and Itauma is to come to fruition next year, it just adds to an eye-catching list of planned fights on the horizon for the year.

Tyson Fury offered chance to fight Anthony Joshua in 2026

All too familiar with British rivals Tyson Fury and his fellow former champion Anthony Joshua, Usyk may finally get to witness the duo settle their differences in the ring as soon as next year.

Of course, twice taking victories over Joshua and Fury during his time in the ring, Usyk defeated both in back-to-back decision triumphs.

But amid their losses to the Ukrainian star, Fury and Joshua have yet to settle their own differences in the ring.

However, if Matchroom Boxing leader Eddie Hearn gets his wish, they may finally do so as soon as next year.
