Neymar acts as peacekeeper during intense Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn face-off

Chris Eubank Jr was confronted by domestic rival Conor Benn shortly after his destructive performance on the undercard of Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol.

Tempers flared as the pair engaged in a heated war of words before Eubank Jr’s victory over Kamil Szeremeta was even announced.

The 35-year-old was then joined in the ring by Brazilian football icon and fellow poker player Neymar, as the pair held their ground against a fired-up Benn.

Regarding his actual fight, though, Eubank Jr floored his man three times before dismantling him in the seventh round, landing a sickening body shot to end his ring return in style.

Conor Benn confronts Chris Eubank Jr with Neymar standing in the middle

The two sons of British boxing legends have been on a collision course since their bout back in 2022 was canceled, once it emerged that Benn had failed a drugs test.

Since then, the pair have expressed a desire to get their original contest rescheduled, with Benn claiming innocence and bidding to restore his British Boxing Board of Control professional license.

Still, while he has not fought in the UK for nearly three years, the 28-year-old remains convinced that he will make a spectacular return against Eubank Jr.

And so, with Eubank Jr securing an emphatic stoppage against Szeremeta in Saudi Arabia, Benn took the opportunity to initiate an intense face-off, only for Neymar to mediate the confrontation.

Conor Benn promises to knockout Chris Eubank Jr

During Eubank Jr’s performance in the ring, Benn posted a chilling warning on social media, claiming that he will stop him inside three rounds.

Aside from the pandemonium that transpired following his victory, Eubank Jr was able to put on a clinical display against his albeit more limited opponent.

Equally, this was the former world title challenger’s first outing under the tutelage of his new head coach, Johnathan Banks, who now has two wins over Szeremeta after previously training Gennady Golovkin to defeat the middleweight too.
