Natasha Jonas hopes to secure a Katie Taylor rematch with a statement victory over Lauren Price… ‘It’s always a fight I’ve wanted’

Natasha Jonas is calling for another showdown with Katie Taylor, believing she has the ability to get revenge over her rival.

On Friday evening, ‘Miss GB’ will go head-to-head with Lauren Price, in a monstrous WBC, WBA, IBF and Ring Magazine unification fight at The Royal Albert Hall in London, UK.

The Liverpudlian is convinced a statement victory could be the key to unlocking a mega rematch with one of the greatest of all time.

The pair first battled it out in the 2012 Olympics, before engaging in an enthralling and razor-close fight back in 2021, which Jonas lost by the narrowest of margins.

Natasha Jonas challenges Katie Taylor to a rematch

Renowned for her fearsome power and unrelenting will to win, Natasha Jonas has carved out an incredible boxing legacy.

But with her desire to compete still burning bright, she’d love to add the icing on the cake, by finally claiming the bragging rights over her old foe.

In an exclusive interview with Bloody Knockout, the icon explained: “I’ve never shied away, it’s always a fight I’ve wanted. Katie Taylor is in a fortunate position to be able to pick and choose who she wants. She’s fought everyone at their best, and left no stone unturned.

“There’s probably a few in the queue. I know Chantelle Cameron would want another go at it. I know Amanda Serrano would want another go at it, Mikaela Mayer probably wants her go.

“So, she has a list of fighters, and she’s in a privileged position, that she’s earned, where she can choose, and hopefully, I can be top of the list.”

However, while Jonas was incredibly respectful in her call out, to her core, she’s still a natural-born competitor, with her warrior spirit shining through, while she was watching two gamers battle it out on Undisputed.

The 40-year-old chuckled: “I saw people playing the game in Saudi Arabia, and somebody was playing as Katie Taylor, and somebody was playing as me, and I was like, ‘Whoever is playing as me, better win’.

“My friends who’ve downloaded the game are sending me screenshots of them playing as me, which is a little bit mad. The first boxing game in ages has my face in it.”

Tasha Jonas tells amusing Tyson Fury story

Having cemented her status as a British boxing legend beyond doubt, Jonas is constantly around the best in the business, which often impresses her daughter.

Jonas laughed: “I went to Nick Ball’s fight not so long ago, and I took my little girl, and she was like, ‘Mum, there’s the lad from your gym’, and when I looked, it was Liam Smith.

“Then, she was like, ‘Look up there, there’s the other one from your gym’, and it was Anthony Crolla.

“She said, ‘Why is he on telly’? I said, ‘These are all famous boxers’. She was like, ‘Are they famous’? She just thinks they’re just the people that train at my gym.

“I was like, ‘Who is the most famous boxer you know’? She had a little think, and went ‘Tyson Fury‘. Then, two seconds later, Tyson Fury walked around the corner.”
