Muhammad Ali’s daughter has claimed her late father would’ve been less than impressed with Mike Tyson’s defeat to Jake Paul.
The 58-year-old lost unanimously to the former YouTuber in front of a record crowd at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, USA.
Jake Paul didn’t have to work too hard to earn his win against one of the greatest heavyweights of all time but the contest left a sour taste in the mouth of many.

Muhammad Ali would’ve been shocked by Mike Tyson earnings
Whilst boxing fans will be left feeling short-changed by the fight they witnessed, Mike Tyson won’t be feeling the effects of the loss too much after checking his bank balance.
‘Iron Mike’ hasn’t confirmed how much he would earn from the weekend’s spectacle, however, USA Today previously reported that he would receive in the region of $20m for his part on the night.
But money isn’t the be all and end all and according to the daughter of Muhammad Ali, the heavyweight star would’ve been left ‘mortified’ by the earnings on offer.
Rasheda Ali Walsh told Fox News: “Daddy would have been mortified.
“Back then, boxers didn’t really make that much. They were fighting for their lives, and I think as my dad started to make boxing more entertaining, that’s when people came on board and how boxers started to, after my dad, make a lot of money.”
During his career, Ali made a total of $57m from all of his fights, with the biggest purse being a $7.9m total from his defeat against Larry Holmes in 1980.
Mike Tyson says he ‘almost died’ before Jake Paul defeat
There were plenty of concern about whether or not the fight should’ve even gone ahead.
Their original date of 20 July had to be rescheduled after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up in the build-up and in the aftermath of his defeat on Friday night, the 58-year-old admitted he was close to death in the months leading up to the fight.

“I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time,” he said.
“I almost died in June. Had eight blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight, so I won.
“To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish eight rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for.”
