Mike Tyson is one of the most famous names in boxing and the fighter hasn’t been shy about spending the money he acquired from the fame.
Sporting legend Tyson made huge headlines in 2024 when he fought influencer-boxer Jake Paul. As one of the biggest US combat sports gates of all time, Tyson added to the millions he made in his career.
With fights against Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, and ‘Buster’ Douglas, Tyson has been part of some of the biggest fights in boxing history. However, as Tyson was able to knock someone out in 93 seconds, his popularity is not surprising.
As well as his boxing career, Tyson has grown his fame thanks to public appearances, hosting a podcast, and even appearing in films and television shows.

Mike Tyson recalls spending $5 million in just two days
Although Floyd Mayweather may be more commonly associated with spending his boxing wealth, Tyson is no stranger to it either.
Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tyson recalled a time in his life when he once spent a huge sum in a short period of time.
Host Kimmel explained that he once had an idea to do a “pay-per-view roast” of Tyson, which he felt could make the boxer a significant sum of money. However, Tyson was not interested in the idea. ‘Iron Mike’ said that “bad things happen” when he had too much money, according to Kimmel.
Tyson responded by saying, “I was a different person back then.”
The boxer was then asked by Kimmel if it was true that he spent $5 million in one week without buying anything. Tyson responded by saying “$5 million dollars might go in a couple of days, yeah. I’m a big spender.”
However, Tyson would go on to say in his 2024 interview that he is no longer a big spender and that he has changed his habits since his younger days. He also added that he never regretted the huge amounts of spending, “I had a great time.”
Mike Tyson made millions fighting Jake Paul, aged 58
In November of 2024, Tyson would face Paul in one of the most talked about boxing matches of the century. Despite being 58 at the time of the bout, millions tuned into the bout at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.
Losing the fight via unanimous decision, it is believed Tyson earned a whopping $20 million for the eight-round bout.
However, despite saying that he no longer spends big like in his younger days, Tyson is understood to have made a multi-million dollar purchase.
Putting his earnings from the Paul fight to use, Tyson invested in a lavish property.
As reported by The Palm Beach Coast, Tyson has bought a new mansion in Florida for a fee of $13 million. The property bought by Tyson is understood to be a 2.7-acre lot with a lake.
