Influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul has faced some of combat sports’ biggest names in his unorthodox career so far.
With a record of 11-1, Paul has claimed victories over former UFC stars such as Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, and Tyron Woodley.
Often criticized for his selection of opponents, Paul’s next opponent is yet to be announced. However, despite Paul being called out by Artur Beterbiev, it is unlikely the former Youtuber will compete for a world title.
In his last outing, Paul defeated Mike Tyson in a bout slammed by Turki Alalshikh via unanimous decision. However, the former knockout artist was not named by Paul as the hardest puncher he’s faced.
Tommy Fury named as the hardest puncher Jake Paul has come up against
Speaking to RING CHAMPS, Paul was asked who the hardest-hitting fighter he ever faced was.
Despite fighting Woodley and Silva, who were able to deliver knockout blows in the UFC, Tommy Fury was given the accolade by Paul.
Although he did give credit to Woodley and Tyson, claiming they felt “strong”, it was Tyson Fury’s brother who got the nod.
“Tommy had better timing and better placement of punches,” was Paul’s reasoning.
Fury is rumored to face Matt Floyd in his boxing return as the British fighter has only competed once since facing Paul.
Following a split-decision victory over Paul, Fury would defeat another influencer when he bested ‘KSI‘ on the judges’ scorecards.
Jake Paul’s announcement confused fans
Following his win over Tyson, Paul claimed that he would be making a boxing-related announcement in January 2025.
On the 28th of January, he did make an announcement, however, its intentions were not clear.
Posting to his social media accounts, Paul shared a poster of him and his brother Logan with the caption, “The moment you’ve waited a decade for… March 27th.”
Despite resembling a fight poster, many fans are not convinced that the two brothers will compete with one another.
One user on X wrote, “This obviously isn’t the fight announcement.”
While one Instagram user said, “This has to just be good marketing for a Paul brothers’ reality show.”
Details of what the announcement was referring to are yet to be confirmed.
