“Iron” Mike peels back the curtain on his recent return to the ring and the struggles he faced.
A lot of fight fans were incredibly nervous and pessimistic about the idea of seeing Mike Tyson step back through the ropes of a boxing ring.
Whilst he did compete in an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, before that, the last time that he fought in a professional contest was two decades ago when he was beaten by Kevin McBride in 2005.
His eight-round fight with Jake Paul went the way that many expected it to go considering the thirty-year age gap between the two men.
Tyson’s health issues were a major talking point ahead of the fight and that has only proven to be justified following his recent comments.

Mike Tyson reveals why he didn’t pull out of Jake Paul fight
Mike Tyson recently appeared on FOX Nation’s “Sean” where he revealed some significant details about the fight and why he decided to proceed with it.
In May of last year, the bout with Paul was postponed following an ulcer-related issue that Tyson suffered from whilst he was on a plane.
The fight was pushed back to November 15 instead of calling the whole thing off as a result of the health updates.
Tyson told Sean Hannity that during the time that the fight was postponed, he had 10 blood transfusions in order to deal with the ulcer.
When Hannity asked whether he thinks that could have negatively impacted him in the fight, ‘Iron’ Mike said that he didn’t feel like he had much of an option at that point.
“I haven’t thought about that. I was worried about getting sued, you know, because I was like, God, they’re going to sue me if I don’t do this fight.”
Tyson also said that he can’t remember the fight aside from being in his corner at the end of the first round.
Mike Tyson reflects on the aftermath of the Jake Paul fight
Whilst the fight may not have delivered a particularly enthralling contest, there’s no denying that it was a commercial success as the first combat sports event to be streamed live on Netflix.
The demand was so high that many viewers even had issues trying to watch the fight live despite it being just a few clicks away.
When Mike Tyson was asked what he thinks about them crashing Netflix with Hannity telling him that close to 100 million people tuned in to watch him compete, the boxing icon gave his overall takeaway.
“Hey, I’m just happy they enjoyed themselves.”
