Mike Tyson’s fight against Jake Paul went, erm, exactly how you’d have expected it to go.
Over 80,000 fans packed into the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for a bout being watched by millions around the world, although boxing fans did complain about Netflix’s coverage of Paul vs Tyson after several reports of buffering streams.
Despite that, a record number were still able to tune in as Jake Paul won the contest via unanimous decision with one judge scoring it 80-72 and the other two scoring it 79-73 in favor of the ‘Problem Child’.
It wasn’t quite the spectacle either had promised with ‘Iron Mike’ showing his age as he tired out as early as the second round whilst Paul, who went into the fight 31 years younger than his opponent, didn’t impress either.

Why does Mike Tyson bite his gloves during fights?
One thing that appeared to be apparent throughout the bout was that Mike Tyson was constantly biting on his glove.
There was plenty of speculation on social media as to why he was doing this, with former boxer Tony Bellew suggesting that he was biting his glove due to being in pain.
During the Netflix broadcast, Roy Jones Jr also expressed concern before commentator Mauro Ranallo claimed he had seen it before in previous fights.
Ariel Helwani then managed to find out the answer after asking the 58-year-old, who simply joked: “I have a biting fixation.”
He wouldn’t be wrong about that as Tyson has had previous when it comes to biting. He famously took a chunk out of Evander Hoyfield’s ear in their 1991 contest before trying to bite the nipple of his opponent in his final professional fight back in 2015.
Will there be a Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson rematch?
In all honesty, it’s very unlikely that we will see these two in the ring together again.
An unspectacular contest at best failed to excite the fans, with many around the world questioning what they had seen.
With ‘Iron Mike’ two years shy of becoming 60 and Paul harvesting ambitions of becoming a world champion, it’s best that these two take different paths in order to realize their dreams.
The next stage for Paul will be for him to prove himself against an active, competitive fighter at the peak of their powers, as opposed to picking fighters past their sell by date or ones competing in other sports.
