While Mike Tyson was nothing short of terrifying in his prime, Deontay Wilder believes he possesses the firepower to have beaten the boxing legend.
With both men blessed with dynamite hands, a fantasy clash between the pair would’ve undoubtedly delivered in abundance.

Mike Tyson gives his opinion on Deontay Wilder, saying he’d have beaten him
When it comes to knocking people out, Mike Tyson and Deontay Wilder are perhaps two of the most lethal punchers to have ever laced up the gloves.
With his iconic peek-a-boo style, ‘Iron Mike’ would bob and weave in front of his opponents before unleashing lightning combinations that would send them crashing toward the canvas.
Wilder, on the other hand, relied heavily on one shot — his devastating right hand. It wouldn’t matter if the Alabama brawler was getting outboxed, at his best, he’d always find a way to rise like a phoenix from the ashes and land his trademark punch.
Therefore, a collision between the two American greats would’ve undeniably excited the fans, with ‘The Bronze Bomber’ desperately trying to land his devastating blow, while Tyson did everything in his ability to evade the shot, and come upstairs with his brutal hooks.

Alas, competing in completely different eras, the bout wasn’t ever a genuine possibility. But that hasn’t stopped Wilder from claiming he would’ve got the job done, telling TMZ: “Listen, I’ve got to keep it real. I know people always go back to the old school or look at the new school and there’s no school where I’m not Number one on Earth.”
Of course, Tyson was always going to respond, but rather than taking offense to the remark, he was complimentary of the mindset the younger heavyweight was in.
In an interview with TNT Sports, he said: “I don’t know [whether I’d beat him]. I love the fact that he thinks that, because that’s the way I would think as well.
“He’s supposed to think that way, he is the heavyweight champion of the world and that’s something very special.”
However, when asked outright whether Wilder would get the better of him, Tyson replied: “I don’t think so.”
Former heavyweight world champion explains why Mike Tyson has the edge over Jake Paul
While known today as a humble warrior, in his heyday, the power puncher was a truly frightening operator.
While there have been a significant number of terrifying competitors to have set foot in the boxing ring, perhaps none had quite the same aura as Tyson.
Maybe that’s because the warrior wasn’t manufactured, but a genuine fighter who grew up on the rough streets of Brownsville, New York, USA, as opposed to Jake Paul, who was born and raised in a safe neighborhood in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
A fellow heavyweight legend has explained why this factor will give the icon a huge advantage over ‘The Problem Child’ when they meet on November 15.
